It was only a matter of time before this popular product was available for the 2015 Mustang, and today we're going to show you how to install them, using our GT convertible.
MGP offers four piece caliper cover sets for your base GTA or V6 or Echo Boost Mustang, your choice of gloss red, gloss black, or a matte black finish. They're available in your choice of logo as well, with Mustang logos, GT logos, 3.7's and several others. If you happen to have a performance pack GT with the factory Brembos, they do one for a rear only two-piece kit to match up to those.
The big brake look doesn't necessarily apply to the 2015 Mustang GT, as even the base brakes are pretty impressive on these cars. Unfortunately, they're not pretty impressive looking, it's a very matte gray, bland finish, every one I've seen already has marks and scratches from the factory. Sure, it's an option to take these off and paint them, the process to do that is actually pretty involved, but the caliper covers are very easy installation, as we're about to show you.
We're going to start with the top bracket. The brackets that are provided by MGP are very easy to install. What is kind of easy to do, is pretty much line it up with the brake rotor, and just turn the rotor, that will line it up with the caliper, and just push it into place. We'll do the same thing with the bottom. Now we're going to slide the calipers on, the studs already come with the bolts in place. Adjust everything so the caliper cover is flat against the caliper. The only tool needed for installation once the wheel is off, is either a three-eighth ratcheting wrench or a three-eighths socket.
Make sure it's tight against it, we can move on to the rears. The rear installation is pretty much the same idea, the only difference being, the bracket to this case have the studs on them, so we're going to remove the nut first, then put the brackets on the caliper. Just like in the front, line it up with the rotor, then slide it into place. Let's put the caliper cover over the studs. Make sure the cover is tight against the caliper. We're going to tighten them down. Repeat on the process on the other side, and your installation is finished.
MGP's caliper covers add a real nice custom touch to our GT convertible. That splash of red behind the wheels also looks great with the magnetic paint. As far as the installation goes, it's very straightforward, honestly, it will probably take you longer to take your wheels off than it will take to actually do the installation itself. Overall, the whole project should take less than an hour, and you're back on the road in no time. For more installation videos for your 2015 Mustang, make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel.
